At J. Slow Ceramics, each piece is crafted from cone 6 mid-fire clay and finished with food-safe glazes on mugs, cups, tumblers, bowls, and plates, making them safe for both hot and cold foods and beverages.

Any use of non-food-safe glazes will be clearly indicated in the product description.

To preserve the quality of your piece, we recommend hand-washing with mild detergents, although our items are also dishwasher-safe. While our ceramics are microwave-safe*, please keep in mind that frequent, daily use in the microwave may weaken the pieces over time.

Avoid exposing items to sudden temperature changes, as this can cause thermal shock, leading to cracking or breakage.

*Note: Dark-colored clays, including black, red, and grey, are not microwave-safe due to their higher iron content, which can cause overheating.
